Deskripsyon

I am a local business owner in the vicinity of this location. There has been numerous trucks hauling, in and out, soil and debris from this site. It appears someone has set up some sort of dirt storage/reclamation business. The problem is that my property, vehicles and merchandise are getting covered in a layer of silt and dirt from this undeveloped property. This does not appear to be an operation that should be established in a industrial business complex, but rather in a rural area. I need someone to investigate this business and see if they are in compliance with the rules of the city. We cannot even have our bay doors open to enjoy the nice weather without getting choked. Please look into this before I am forced to attend a City Council meeting, which I prefer not to. Thank you.

I have identified the owner of the property and the contractor on the property. I have also observed the dirt and debris. It has been seven days since the investigation and the trucks are still rolling in and out. Huge amounts of dust and noise. It appears the City is allowing this business to continue. I have spoken to other business owners, including Johnson Controls, a employer of many people, and it seems no one is happy with lack of action. Is this business legal? Do they have a occupational license? This does not seem right. Please respond to my questions of legality of business. Thank you.

No violations were determined by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Pinellas County Air Quality Control required the dirt/site clean-up operation to cover all vehicle drive areas with mulch and to keep all dirt areas wet to mitigate dirt/dust in the air. As determined by the Police Department & Community Compliance, a City Business Tax Receipt (BTR) was required for the storage business on the property - which has been issues. All issues have now complied and we have monitored the site for several months with no repeat issues. We are closing this issue, but will continue to monitor conditions and will take enforcement action if warranted in the future.

Very disappointed with this outcome. Trucks have started rolling again with no one watching. Dirt and mud all over the road again. My employees have not seen any activity for month from the City. I guess that I will need to start my own video surveillance. I would like to see a copy of this so called licence, immediately. This activity is clearly not what I was told was allowed in this district when I bought my property. I have now told my employees to document any activity in the area that is unwatched. The noise, debris, activity is not what I thought when I bought this property. Also, who from the County do we need to contact, as we have never seen a County vehicle in this area. I need everyones records for my attorney.
