Throughout Cambridge many bike lanes are very badly plowed during snow emergencies, and bicycles are most in need of a clear street. Without good clearance, many bicycle commuters are forced onto the MBTA or into cars, so proper clearance isn't just about the convenience of cyclists, but for the benefit of all commuters and travelers.

Agreed, James -- additionally, this forces bicycles into the car lane, slowing cars who are trying to drive down this one-lane, one-way street and making it more dangerous for the bicyclists as well.

Thank you for reporting this issue. Our crews have been made aware of this location for future snow events.

Just wanted to note publicly that this issue is probably only closed because the snow melted. I went by a day after I took that picture and saw snow still. Now the bike lane is full of snow-melt sludge and dirt, so I biked in the car lane today to avoid getting dirt all over myself. I'm reopening so this gets some attention, but feel free to close again.

That has to be a form response, right? "Pleased" to tell me that the city did nothing and the snow melted over a week because the weather was really warm? Sorry to be a pain -- I just want to make it clear that nothing was done on this direct issue. But I hope that in the future similar situations will be acted on, as you have said.
