Temescal Creek park is covered in Foxtails. Pulling them is the only option and they need to be removed in the next day or two. Simply cutting them will allow them to blow all over the neighborhood spreading more grown in the area and endangering our pets outside the park. These are a dog owner's nightmare. Foxtails torpedo-shaped awns are like bullets and can penetrate any part of a dog’s body. The awns most commonly lodge in a dog’s nose, ears, underbelly, rear end and paws.
