Thank you for your comment. The traffic signals on Madison, Western, & Washington Avenues that have been upgraded in the past couple of years all require the pedestrian to press the pushbutton and then wait for the pedestrian crossing signals to activate before crossing. We are working on an update that will activate allow the pedestrian signals to work automatically when crossing the side streets. The signals will still require a press of the button to cross Madison Avenue after the update is completed. This should be in place this summer.
