We are having the same problem. I can hear the raceway noise from inside my house with the windows closed. It makes it impossible to enjoy our yard on weekends.
I hope others will speak up.

With all windows and doors closed, this noise is keeping me up after 10pm. It is much louder than it used to be!

Raceway has been there longer than 22 years. If it was to be gotten rid of it would have been gone by now. Regarding the police being called for the party because the music was so loud there are noise violations of different types in Crofton. That is disturbing the peace, obviously called in by a neighbor. No can do in Crofton. Especially with a HOA.
Regarding the raceway........close the windows, and turn on the tv or some music to drown out the raceway noise, but not too loud or out come the police :) Crofton life is just like every other crappy place to live. Crime is up, car thefts. It's not the safe quiet place it was many years ago, and never will be again. Must be time for some folks to move.

Getting rid of nuisance raceway has my vote. Brings unwanted noise and crime to the area.

I agree that something has to be done about the raceway noise. With more development: houses, apartments, senior places, shops, and etc. It is ludicrous to allow this raceway to continue to be a disturbance. Why can't they move further out or build a sound wall around the raceway. It is not fair to the residents in the area. They should not have been allowed to build residents, when this noise is an issue. I cannot believe that there is no public hearing or legislation, to get rid of the noise problem.

Capitol Raceway is a nuisance. Every weekend from March until November, the entire population of Crofton is subjected to persistent noise pollution from the engines of maybe hundreds of car enthusiasts (who I'm willing to bet come from outside of the area) from Friday evening until Sunday evening. These cars sound like they're in my backyard a lot of the time, even with my windows closed and music playing in an attempt to drown out the sound. Why is Capitol Raceway permitted by the county to continue destroying the quality of life of an entire community?

Exactly. I’ve never lived anywhere where this was permitted until now. The logic is they were here first. So, if you have not lived in Crofton since the 1960’s, you should just accept the diminished quality of life and the fact that you can’t use your deck on nice weekends. Why can’t the raceway or the city put up some noise barriers??

Some of these comments are from 2017, raceway is still there. Your complaints aren't working.

Yall think it's a nuisance now guess what. If it does close all that racing ends up on the street and puts your families lives in danger I live very close to the track and have no issues with it at all and they abide by the noise ordinances. Don't like it move.

Capital Raceway:
- Abides by the noise law and is very careful to stop running cars at that time
- Has been there well before the development
- Was most likely there when you bought or rented your homes

To clarify the OP - Capital Raceway is not louder now than it has been for decades.

Impressed (but not really) that someone called the police on their own childs party for the police to show up.
- If you think about it - asking us to pay for someone to come over to your house to implement that could be done within the household
- There are circuit breakers that can stop the noise rather quickly
- And point to the door or driveway for anyone that complains.
