The city will be redoing Hiward Ave., but currently the plans call for bump outs instead of humps, please vote and share this.

NH is going to fix the problem, but I believe their plans are still calling for bump outs instead of humps. Speed Humps are what will solve the problem and what residents desire.

I believe city regulation state that speed humps must be a minimum of 300 feet away from the driveways and intersections. Mostly all of the homes on that stretch of road have driveways. But the narrowing of the roadways by the bumps will slow the drivers down because it changes their perception when driving, and it will also give pedestrians a safer place to cross as they will be able to see traffic without having to step into it. I had lengthy conversation with city engineering and traffic and parking when we got ours ... after 5 years!!! So you are way ahead of the game. Congratulations.

Thanks, I'm pretty sure that I've seen some in Westville and on my street that don't follow that code though so I'm sure they must make exceptions, if that's the code at all.

Residents of that area want speed humps installed so let's leave it open until the city let's us know what they'll do.
