Description
Drug activity including selling and consuming is going on behind the former "Grand Bridge" restaurant. Usually at night but also during the day. Neighbors called the police, have called the city. Nothing happens. The entire plot of land needs to be cleaned up and more trash barrels installed. Maybe crack baggies would not have to be thrown in the ground. This is a public canoe launch. That is not usable by the general public because of lack of city responsibility.

I have talked to people in law enforcement and See Click Fix and they agree with me about posting drug activity here. As far me watching too much television, it has been years since I have watch any type of crime movie or television series. I would also like to suggest in the future stick to the issues.

Yes, See Click Fix, is a wonderful tool but like all tools it has to be used correctly. I am sure your intentions are good but they may be counter productive.

Many people monitor this site even low level drug dealers. Also if they pull up stakes it may be near your house.

Hopefully, when they pull up stakes in front of your house you or your family are not harmed while you wait for them to go elsewhere. As I posted before I have spoke to law enforcement and they agree that drug activity should not be reported on this site. I can give you some numbers to call and maybe you can convince them that your way is better. As far as going to an area that doesn't care, how about the the innocent children?

I think we can agree you don't want children around where this is happening.

We know this is not good.
I would like to point out this post has been out for a few days and it has yet to be acknowledged by any city department because many do not monitor this site. This is why we should call the police district manager and alderperson.

The police for the most part do not monitor this site so posting here is not going to help. I suggest you call the police district manager and your alder

I think public works who is responsible for the issues you mention monitors this site. The drug related issues are not being ignored in all likelihood they are not being seen when posted here. Also as I posted before they should not be posted

New Haven Police are on the watch list. If they monitor it or not I do not know. At least other people reading this will see what is going on. It is not necessary for you to be a moderator or comment on everything thing that "you" think should be posted here, "XYZ".
It is called city responsibility. And the city needs to know.

This was first posted on July 27 and the city has yet to acknowledged the posts. I think it is safe to say the city doesn't know and the posts have not accomplished anything. I suggested people start calling.

One more thing if there is an undercover operation in force these posts may have hampered it and I still don't watch much TV

Posting here is not accomplishing anything, as you can see these posts have not been acknowledged. You posted that you do not appreciate my constant commentary, here is a solution, don't read them

If police monitor this site why aren't posts acknowledged? You did acknowledged this post but it was almost a month after it was first posted.

You may have read the posts from this site but I think it is safe to say the vast majority of members of people in law enforcement don't on a regular basis.
I also think you have to agree that reporting drug activity can be counterproductive if there is an uncover operations going on. The people I have talked to in the department agree with me on this point. Please respond because many people on this site do not agree with me on this point. I do agree with you on calling the police district manager for the area. It would be nice if the new district manager posted his name and phone number on this site.

Correction to my previous post, LCI Citywide Helper commented on this issue today, a month after it was first reported.

The people who may be doing criminal acts do monitor this site. I recall a few years ago the residents of a house on Lexington Ave responded to the posts that were written about them.
Again I find it hard to believe the police and LCI monitors this site daily. People start posting about this issue two weeks ago and not one person from the city has acknowledged these posts, this is just one example.
I called 203 946-6316 and was told the drug hotline was 203 946-6098 ,when I called I got the following voice mail, "You have reached Lt. Carl Jacobson from the intel center".
See Click Fix can be good tool but it has to be used correctly and the various city departments have to start monitoring it and being proactive. A good start would be for the police district manager to introduce himself and give his phone number.

I called the number for the East Shore Police District but the name in the voice mail was different from the one in the link you provided.

When you call that number the voice mail states LT David Zannelli, something is not right.

When you call this number you get a computer voice stating the mailbox is fill and it does not give a name, try it and see for yourself. I am going to try calling a few more times today and if I get the same response I will call the chief's office. How can the public work with the police if you can't communicate with them? Something like calling the police district manager such not be so hard.

I hope you will rethink your reasoning that drug dealers do not monitor this site because they are not that smart enough because it it is not safe to assume. Also their friends or family members may visit this site and warn them when they see a post about drug dealing. The people in law enforcement and the city agree with me that it is best not to post this issue here. It would be nice if we had a number to call that works. See my previous post concerning the drug hotline.
