There are nearly a dozen zip cars at this location, and a bus shelter for the 228 line at Yale lot 16v. It would be so useful to have a bike rack here for people who want to integrate multiple modes of transportation into their commute. I personally ride my bike to this lot when I use zipcar, and I am forced to lock my bike to a sign post, which is less than ideal. I have seen others lock their bikes to a sign marking a pedestrian walkway, and the bikes frequently obstruct the walkway to some degree. I understand that there is a fair bit of construction occurring in the back side of this lot right now, but I hope that does not deter consideration of adding a bike rack to this area. Spring has sprung ( I think ) and bike month is fast approaching. It would be wonderful to get more folks on spokes for at least a part of their commute - or whatever time they spend in town.
