Description
Currently, when crossing Encinal via Chestnut, there is a pedestrian crossing signal. However, when crossing Chestnut via Encinal, there is not a pedestrian crossing signal. This intersection is used often by children and adults going to nearby businesses, schools, and church.
A pedestrian button may not be needed, but a signal (walk / blinking walk / don’t walk) or (walk / countdown) might increase safety. It might provide more awareness for pedestrians than the simple (red, yellow, green) and more awareness to drivers to double-check for pedestrians.
