The new owners of this building seem to think that they are exempt form graffiti laws. I spoke to them directly and they acknowledged the graffiti but told me they would not be painting over it. These same people own the adjacent building and should be interested in improving their community, but they are not.
OPW, please contact the new owners to inform them that they are responsible for keeping this property clean and free from graffiti, trash or other blight conditions.
There is no reason for any property owner to be exempt from keeping their property maintained, before, during or after construction.
This is still a problem and has not been addressed by the City of Oakland.
I no longer have time to do the work that Oakland pays people to do. SCF is an interesting concept but, the PWA and other Oakland departments are too broken to fix these problems. I give up!
