OAK 311 has received this issue. Your service request ID is #828647. Thank you, in advance, for your patience as we work through a backlog of pothole service requests. Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

Beside the bad road conditions this utility patch was permitted, inspected and signed off by an Oakland Code enforcement inspector. This is one of several hundred failed sewer lateral patch's in Oakland due to cut rate plumbing contractors and very lazy and incompetent code enforcement inspectors. Contact them 238-3381 and demand to know how this happened. More of our tax dollars squandered away.

Thanks for the report. Makes one wonder if the finalized sewer permit could be held up until proof of a good patch is submitted to the PW Dep't.(?) In this case, due to the danger to cyclists, this issue is being submitted to Oakland as a "TOP 10" for immediate attention under an agreement with the Bike East Bay Hazard Elimination program.

The plumbers and useless code enforcement inspectors need to held accountable. Fine and make the plumber do the job right and fire the inspectors.
