The entire Hayward street is being dug up from E Border rd to behind 71 Hayward. I don’t see anyone from the city there. I just wondered if the city is aware and if there is a permit.
Update. All of the blacktop from Hayward St has been removed. There are truckloads of gravel behind 70 and 71 Hayward St. It looks like they are going to start paving. It doesn’t look like the City is doing the work. Is this approved by the city?
You won't see anyone from the city. They barely supervise their contractors, who frequently perform substandard work without any consequence (you should see the concrete work in my neighborhood). They create dangerous traffic situations and fail to provide details (we had an accident and numerous close calls in my neighborhood as a result of re-routed traffic due to recent work). And they seem to never warn residents in advance. It is the same all over the city. No other city is as negligent about public safety as ours when it comes to these sorts of projects. Not one.
Oh, one more thing. They will never provide you with a meaningful answer either. People are still waiting to hear about the nature of the "emergency" that necessitated hydrant flushing on a Sunday (with payment of overtime) a couple of weeks ago, which caused countless people to lose water pressure and caused many to have property (laundry and plumbing fixtures) damaged. It's clear that the city blatantly lied about the whole thing. There was no "emergency." And that's why they continue to ignore numerous inquiries from multiple residents.
