Description

This is a letter of complaint regarding a customer driving your scooter.

This particular customer HIT the sideview mirror on the driver side of my car, while I was at a stop light on 14th/Broadway in Downtown Oakland.

He continued to drive and after I beeped my horn at him, he proceeded to give me the middle finger and shout "@#$% you" at me. He then stopped his scooter and proceeded to stare at at me to see my reaction - is my guess.

He was not following traffic laws that are required for motorized scooters:
* Driving w/o a helmet
* NOT driving in the bike lane
* Going between lanes and running a red light

I was shocked that my mirror was hit, unnecessarily and felt threatened after I beeped my horn in reaction.

I do not have any photos or a scooter #, but wanted to share this encounter so that you all might regulate these scooters that are ransacking the area a bit better.

While I realize your concern may not be safety, because it seems anyone can hop on them, my hope is that something is done to prevent something like this happening to any other driver who's commuting to work or anywhere else.

Tnx,
