I’m reporting this flooding again as a new issue as it has had no resolution. It seems to get worse every storm. Please help engineering department.

This has been going on for years and years. Nothing seems to be really done to repair this situation. Cleaning out the drain does not seem to solve the problem.
Cars need to make a wide turn onto Winthrop from Chapel into the other lane to avoid the deep water. It is impossible for walkers to cross at this corner without high waders during heavy rain.

We are aware of the issue and have already jetted the basin and associated piping to the best of our ability four times in the last 12 months. Unfortunately it is a strange type of catch basin with an odd baffle system that lends to clogging. We have now placed it in the queue for reconstruction. This may take a bit of time, but we hope to address it this construction season.

Sorry for the delay in the close. The pipe was upgraded a few years ago and the request was not closed at that time. If there is a persistent or re-occurring issue please create a new request so that the issue can be re-analyzed.
