Public Works - KR (Community Relations) assigned this issue to Police - JW (Communications)

A Commanding Officer has conducted spot checks in that area to identify this issue and has not see such activity.

In the future, if you see this type of activity, we encourage you to call the Cambridge Police non-emergency number at 617-349-3300. It may have potentially been an officer with another department (Transit Police?).

This happened again tonight. I called 617-349-3300, but the person I spoke to was a bit dismissive, and I didn't get the impression anyone was going to check on it.

@Brenda Pike - thanks for the follow-up information. We looked into this further and verified that the police car in that location is a Detail Officer. Per recent studies from our Detail Office, having a patrol car their with an officer in that vicinity is helping alleviate some of the bottle necks associated with traffic flowing out of Cambridge Park Drive. An Officer their without a vehicle was an officer safety issue. Without such a presence, it was becoming near impossible for that traffic to exit.
