Description

This picture is a portion of Helderberg Avenue off Pinewood Avenue between Pinewood and Ramsey (actually a dead end next to 46 Pinewood Ave. one week after the big storm. It looks like a driveway, but it is a poorly maintained city street with residents’ cars and driveways up the hill often stranded in a snowstorm. It needs to be cleared of the snow better now and salted considering the temps. Please also make sure this is on DGS and contractors’ lists of city streets to be cleared in the future. Thanks. Judy

Another dead end the City forgets about - shame!! Residential streets must have priority in clearing the streets AND INTERSECTIONS. The wide main streets can get by after they are plowed once. Residents need their access and their property taxes are paying for it, not the out-of-towners moving in and out of town on the main streets. DGS needs to change their priorities - residents come first!!

Thank you for reporting this unshoveled or unsalted sidewalk. Prior to yesterday’s snowfall we cleared 220 of the 280 sidewalk requests we received. Since it snowed, the 24 hour timeframe property owners have to clear their sidewalks has reset. Therefor we are closing this request. Should the property owner not clear their sidewalks within the 24 hours after the snow ends, please feel free to reopen this request and we will address those sidewalks accordingly.

This was a request to have the City clear and salt the road! (the portion of Helderberg between Pinewood and Ramsey Place that is a dead end). It was not a sidewalk issue. Has the City cleared it and salted it? (with the freezing temps, the left snow was already turning into ice, so salting would seem to be essential.)

Thank you for reporting this unshoveled or unsalted sidewalk. Since it snowed last night, the 24 hour timeframe property owners have to clear their sidewalks has reset. Therefor we are closing this request. Should the property owner not clear their sidewalks within the 24 hours after the snow ends, please feel free to reopen this request and we will address those sidewalks accordingly.

Just wanted to reiterate this is in reference to the portion of Helderberg perpendicular to Pinewood - I'm the owner at 46 Pinewood and always clear our sidewalks in a timely manner, Judy D was just informing the City the this portion needs to be cleared and salted when big snow and ice storms come - thank you for all the assistance!
