Cars parked on sidewalk again it never stops I almost hit a child on a bike because sidwalk was blocked so he chose the street. This happened at approx. 2:40 PM today.
Do something to stop this permenantly before someone gets hurt real bad or even killed.
If I wasn't driving I would of taken a picture or even video of the child on bike.

Our judges need to also be more strict quit just slapping the peoples hands and letting them get away with little or no consequences for thier actions.

THIS ISSUE IS NOT CLOSED. I have written, and will continue to write the sidewalk parkers. I have asked the Officers who are assigned the district to special emphasis this problem to avoid the car pedestrian collision that could result. I have spoken to the owner of the restaurant, its his customers who park like this, but he was not willing to help. I have emailed code enforcement with the question of whether a business owner allowing such a nuisance could threaten their business license but am still awaiting a reply. Please call when you see them, I shall be looking as well. Perhaps a call from a citizen to the business license desk of the city if you possibly could? Thank you very much.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep Tukwila a great place to live, work and visit!

That looks like all the business licensing contact info and the contact info for public works. I've sent them an email and will make a follow up call tomorrow.
Here's a copy of the email for any others who share my concerns and would like to reach out. I don't know anything about Municipal Codes, but I googled what I could in hopes of using the right language to communicate my concerns effectively.
"Greetings,
I live around the corner from a building shared by three businesses, listed below:
Sahara Cafe
13919 Tukwila International Boulevard
Tukwila, WA 98168
Jubba Cuts
13921 Tukwila International Boulevard
Tukwila, WA 98186
Towa Grocery
13923 Tukwila International Boulevard
Tukwila, WA 98168
There has been a continual issue of cars parking along the sidewalk outside these stores and blocking public right of way. Per Tukwila Police Department, they "have spoken to the owner of the restaurant, its his customers who park like this, but he was not willing to help." The Officer also states that they have written and will continue to write tickets for the sidewalk parkers, but the issue remains the same.
I found the following in the Municipal codes, I don't know if they apply in this case:
"11.04.070
Hazardous Conditions on Public Right-of-Way
It is unlawful for the owner and /or person occupying or having charge or control of any premises abutting upon any public right-of-way or alley in the City to construct, place, cause, create, maintain or permit to remain upon any part of such right-of-way located between the curbline or, if there is no
curbline, then between the adjacent edge of the traveled portion of such right-of-way by the members of the general public, including but not limited to the following conditions:
...
(Ord. 1995 §1 (part), 2002) "
"11.04.100
Violation – Penalty
A. The violation of or failure to comply with any provision of this title is declared to be unlawful.
B. Any violation of any provision of this title is a criminal violation as provided for in Chapter TMC 1.08.010, for which a monetary penalty may be assessed and abatement may be
required as provided therein.
C. As an alternative to any other penalty provided by this title or by law, any person who violates any provision of this title shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
D. In addition, any violation of any provision of this title is hereby declared a public nuisance and is subject to the civil enforcement provisions of TMC Chapter 8.45.
(Ord. 1995 §1 (part), 2002)"
My goal is to have the owners of these businesses held accountable for the safety issues they allow their customers to create. Ticketing the cars parked on the sidewalk has not been an effective solution.
My interpretation of the Tukwila Municipal Codes is the the Director of the Public Works Department or his or her designee is my best resource for addressing this problem. At the suggestion of the Tukwila Police Officer, I'm also emailing an address that I hope is for a representative of the business license desk of the city. Please let me know if there is another department I should direct my concerns toward.
I appreciate the work you do to make Tukwila a safe place to live. Thank you for any information you can give me, and a special thank you for any action you can take on this matter.
Regards,"

This should be worked by both police, code enforcement and whoever approves the business license also the mayor should get involved because if there is an accident there and someone is hurt the city will he sued and will be held responsible for letting this go on so long.

This issue is not closed, here is where I am at with it.
I am still looking for and writing tickets too, the sidewalk parkers. From having them yell at me (which I do not care about, I advise them I did not choose to obstruct a sidewalk) I have learned they are customers of the restaurant that occupied one third of the building on the northwest corner of South 140th Street and T.I.B.
I asked to have the driveways that lead to the small vacant lot adjacent to the sidewalk blocked with ecology blocks. I was thinking since the sidewalk parkers use those driveways to park on the sidewalk, then blocking them would not interfere with pedestrian traffic on the sidewalk and perhaps solve the issue. I learned a business across the street owns the vacant lot, and the city in no way can block or interfere with the ability of the owner to access it.
I asked about any nuisance provision of the business license the City granted the restaurant since its their customers causing the problem, and they refuse to do anything about it. That question is still be examined by other City departments.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep Tukwila a great place to live, work and visit!
