Traffic moves very fast along this area of Lincoln Avenue where it transitions into Marshall way. The area between the Academy of Alameda and Longfellow Park could better serve the comunity with more parking (45* vs parallel) and make crosswalks safer by slowing the flow of fast moving not very dense traffic by narrowing the street to 1 lane each way w marked bike lane. Traffic flows way over 25mph limit through 2 school zones and a park.
More parking, narrow 4 lane highway to 2 w/bikelane, saftey zone for multiple school zones, win win win

Each request will be scored based on various quantitative and qualitative traffic related criteria. The requests with the highest scores will then be added to a list (to be reviewed for the next 1-2 fiscal years). Requests that are not selected will remain in the pool for consideration at a later time. We will add your request to the pool so that it may go through the selection process.
Since you are interested in bicycle and pedestrian safety issues, please note that the City will be updating its Bicycle and Pedestrian Plans starting in mid-2019. If you’d like to receive notices about opportunities to provide input on these updates, please send your email address to transportation@alamedaca.gov.
In the meantime, we will reassign this case to APD so that they may enforce the area.
