Call you alderperson

This was reported to the relevant alder (ward 1) and also myself (Ward 7) who represents other parts of Downtown impacted by this problem. We have been told to alert the police when this happens, so that they can monitor for future violations and be there to cite folks, since the law currently requires someone official to actually witness the violation. (And the police are the city officials out and about at that time.) This complaint was forwarded to the Downtown NHPD district manager this morning.

At a recent alder hearing on this issue, the CAO’s Office suggested we work with them on amending the current ordinance to make it more effective at deterring violations. Looking forward to trying to make that happen so people living Downtown no longer get woken up at 4:30 am by private trash companies breaking the rules.

Please note that snice your report the Board of Alders has amended the ordinances related to trash haulers and noise so now we can investigate these complaints based on GPS data. We have established a new category Private Trash Haulers that can help us track and respond to the complaints.
