There are around 4 skunks, I see them all the time. They're just hungry and want to live.

whats wrong with skunks? im sure they have been in jersey city for decades. i dont think the city can come in and start chasing skunks away or waste their time to find any. this is a very ridiculous request. why dont you start a “skunk patrol” since you seem to hate them do much and you sit outside in a skunk patrol car and wait to catch one.

I have also observed what seems to be a growing population of skunks in the neighborhood nearby to Leonard Gordon Park, including my backyard where my cat was sprayed by one of them. I do not hate skunks, and I don't know if there is anything the city can or should do about them, but it doesn't hurt to alert the city about the situation.

you may be new to Jersey City... but the skunks are not... the City knows... and will do... absolutely nothing about them... it is what it is...

Mr. Watts, like jerseyresident you should be careful of making unfounded assumptions. I have lived in Jersey City for all but 7 of my 68 years, and never saw a skunk on the street until recently. I'm sure they were around, but the fact that they are being spotted more frequently may be a sign that their numbers are increasing. As I said before, there's no harm in asking the question.

Jersey resident and Mr. Watts I've been in JC fur 25yrs like Edalisap I too haven't seen skunks in JC untill now. Jerseyresident you may not have a problem with skunks, but skunks in the park where kids play is an issue. You might have no issue with them now but if you have kids or pets that you take this park and get sprayed all the sudden you going to have an issue when the city not doing anything.

Ed, may I call you Ed... lol... skunks have been a part of Jersey City long before you were born and will be long after you are gone... open your eyes... and nose.... how you could have missed them I will never know.... maybe you were to busy being a busy body... wink, wink...

pm7jc is correct. Skunks, squirrels, birds and bees are all part of of the natural wildlife of parks, even those in urban areas. They have just as much of a right to be there as humans do.
