Description
The roadway and bike lane on Main Street from Atlantic to the ferry terminal needs regular sweeping. There is lots of gravel on the pavement. It has been more noticeable lately, probably because there is one lane for motor vehicles now so that the right side, especially the bike lane accumulates most of the debris. It is the same route the landfill trucks take to get to Alameda Point.
This is a hazard to motor vehicles, rocks getting airborne and hitting vehicles. It is especially a hazard for bikes, again airborne rocks and also loose gravel could cause a cyclist to go down.
