I believe their permit is in a permit box mounted on the wonderfully-designed tea house. The lot wasn't clearcut - a derelict and dangerous structure which blighted the community for many years was demolished and the new owner is clearly developing this property with sensitivity and taste. I've appreciated seeing the use of sedimentation fence being used in relationship to earth moving operations and look forward to seeing a new home emerge on this site at last. It is also impressive that the owner has a landscape designer involved in the project from the very start: kudos! Whilst I appreciate the vigilance in the neighborhood, I don't think this is a project or property owner that we need to be worried about, Hopefully that will put your heart at ease.

Permitting has been done and EPA has been involved

Alachua County Environmental Protection visited the property on 12/12 and worked with the owners to address some soil erosion and sedimentation concerns. We are continuing to investigate the permitting status of the activity and to ascertain the extent of impacts, if any, to the creek channel and associated protection buffers. Thank you for your concern on this issue. ACEPD staff are following up with the property owners to address erosion and sedimentation that occured following the storm on 2/6. Staff are working with the owners to stabilize the site and to prevent further erosion and sedimentation of the adjacent creek bed and stormwater systems.
