When you are on 580W, going from San Leandro to Oakland, use the right 2 lanes to exit at19C, then following the signs to Martin Luther King Jr. Way, BEFORE you go under the freeway above, you are on an "OFF RAMP" and there are 2-3 sizable pot holes. There is also a really big one as you continue under the freeway and onto MLK JR. Way, about 3 feet in length. This is all before Oakland Children's Hospital.

OAK 311 has received this issue. Your service request ID is #990446. Thank you, in advance, for your patience as we work through a backlog of pothole service requests. Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. Please check back for status updates, or contact us directly at 510-615-5566.
Thank you for contacting OAK311. Freeway on and off-ramps are maintained by Caltrans. Caltrans has directed the City of Oakland to inform the public to report Caltrans infrastructure issues directly to them at: 510-286-6445 or 510-286-6175 or https://csr.dot.ca.gov. Please contact Caltrans accordingly.
The 2nd comment, from the OAK 311 representative, accurately states that Caltrans has to fix this item. (Not City of Oakland staff.)
But it would help us citizens if OAK 311 were to forward the info to Caltrans, rather than expecting ordinary folks to go to a different reporting system.
The OAK 311 response has 2 features I like. The 2 phone numbers are local, rather than statewide. The weblink (URL) should work statewide, in case I have a report to make that concerns a more distant location. I had an older URL but these things change over time.
Minor revisions to my comment: 1. The 2nd comment didn't use the words "Caltrans has to fix." (But that's what was meant.) 2. The 2nd comment uses the word "directed." This implies that Caltrans does not even allow services like OAK 311 to forward the info. Annoying, but such is life. Caltrans maintenance has been notoriously underfunded for many years, and it will be cheaper for Caltrans to process the report if people use THEIR website which has EXACT SPECIFICS as to what they want to know, and the report from OAK 311 might not be able to fill in all of Caltrans's blanks.
