I thought this business went from a pizza place and permitted over to a retail food store as a “deli.” If that is the case how can the owner put outside seating which blocks the only sidewalk for people with ADA issues?

He can be permitted for both. That is how the downtown Panificio works, they also have a liquor license.

Oh, and that looks like Sal's - they have had outdoor seating forever.

How is it that a person that continuously violates the rules and tells the county code enforcement officer that he will do whatever he wants and what he has to do, even though it is in violation of county ordinances, is not held to the same standards as everyone else in the county. The guy posted it on his Facebook page, then went on WWSB and then in the news paper. His placing of couches and flower pots take up parking for other businesses in the strip mall. If he likes the way the City of Sarasota closed the streets for their Restaurants, then he should pack his store and move into the city. He is not smart enough to know the difference in city and county rules and how they differ, yet the county acquiesces when he pouts and stomps his feet. For Pete sake, how many times does this guy have to be cited before the County Code enforcement supervisors, Susan LeGay and Matt Osterhoudt start holding this guy accountable for his actions? If you are upset about this guy doing “whatever I have to do to stay in business” attitude it is time to start calling the bosses.

I agree this bafoon Solorzano needs to be stopped.

His businesses failed in Siesta Key and Venice. The landlords kicked him out in both locations. County lets him do what he wants. They are either afraid of him, not sure why, he's not mobbed up, he's spanish, or they are completely incompetent.
