There is a small hidden space between our house and the school next door. That is the entrance of the school . But because of the covid-19 , the school has not opened for a long time. There was a homeless who lived in. He even took drugs there, had sex with women, and ate, slept, urinate. We tried to ask him to leave many times,and ask the police to come, but he will come back the next day. He really seriously affected our lives, our children did not dare to go downstairs to play, we are scared when we hear the sound at night and smelled stench every day! We are also taxpayers, and we live this kind of life while paying the land tax! Please help us! !

Dear Mayor,
It is not good for one's well being to be constantly subjected to piles of garbage, filth, graffiti, homelessness, human feces, hypodermic needles. You have the power to help to improve people’s quality of life/their mental health by using laws, regulations, and codes already in place that if they were enforced would help to do that.

If he is mentally unstable then City of Oakland should use the LPS Act to get him help.
The LPS act a bipartisan bill was co-authored by California State Assemblyman Frank D. Lanterman (R) and California State Senators Nicholas C. Petris (D) and Alan Short (D), and signed into law in 1967. The Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS) Act provides guidelines for handling involuntary civil commitment of individuals to mental health institutions in California.
Under the LPS Act, individuals can be detained into a locked psychiatric facility in the following process. 5150 hold, an individual can be placed involuntary to a locked psychiatric facility, for evaluation for up to 72 hours. Any peace officer or specific individuals authorized by a county government may place the hold.
www.calhospital.org/lps-act shows a map that identifies 100 hospitals in California that are designated by the counties to receive LPS 5150 patients.

Try Oakland School Police, It’s expected the seven sworn officers, two sergeants and the chief himself will remain working in the district until the Dec. 31st 2020.
