Yup! Improvements are definitely necessary here. Is this a chance to collaborate w URI? Is there enough space for trees? At the other end of Westville between Mitchell and Hallocks, the median trees were all met w early fates. We gonna try w more trees? Yes, please!

Sea grasses are easy to maintain and look beautiful for many months. Would be a nice enhancement in the median, require minimal care and do not grow high enough to block visibility.

I emailed Bill Carone at Parks back in May. Never rec'd a response. I emailed Mayor Elicker, Parks, DPW and the local alders on June 6th. Still no response.

I read or heard somewhere that median strips are being used for pollinator plants. Don't know if this one is wide enough but it should be considered instead of wood chips.

You most likely will receive a faster acknowledgment from our city if you open a separate request for the medians on Whalley Avenue between Harrison Street & Blake Street. This would be advantageous unless there is already a plan to put wood chips there.

Combining separate requests that are at different locations usually spells doom.

Thanks for the cake but the weeds have grown back with gusto. Have to chip in for a different solution. Poles and banners look fantastic. Median should too!

Wood chips kept weeds at bay for about 2 weeks. Thats not the solution. Where is parks and/or engineering? Please look into a longer lasting fix—the landscaping coming into this City hub should follow the lead of the lighting and banners. Why is this so hard to do?

The City is responsible for the median, not the State. I've emailed Mayor Elicker and Parks Department and no response. Elicker is raising taxes this year, but there is no money in the budget for anything like this.

Does it really take 2 years to purchase and plant grasses or pollinator plants ? Taxes are rising, surely we can afford some beautification to enhance the entrance to our section of Whalley Ave.
