Our next step with your request will be to review it and assign it a priority level so that we can respond as promptly and appropriately as we can to the thousands of requests we receive each year. Your input into this process is critical, as we count on our community to be our eyes and ears as new issues arise or existing issues change. OAK311 is our one-stop shop for public maintenance requests, and it's the best method we have for logging, tracking, and prioritizing requests like yours. We’d like also to take this opportunity to share some information with you about how we’re taking on the bigger task of improving all Oakland streets – including fully repaving streets. In general, for our 3-Year Paving Plan (adopted in mid-2019) we prioritized local streets based on the Pavement Condition Index (https://oakgis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=8802147bcb4b42bfb21846e36205fe4d), working generally from the worst streets next to schools, to the worst streets otherwise, until our budget target was met. With this plan, we will be repaving more than 70 miles of local streets in three years. This is a massive increase in funding dedicated to local streets: in the past ten years we averaged just under 3 miles of local streets paving per year. Unfortunately, even with this aggressive move to address local street conditions, we are not able to prioritize every one of the 300+ local street miles that are good candidates for repaving.   This road has been in bad need of repair for many years. It is one of the few escape routes from this part of the hills in the eventuality of a fire. For this reason alone, it should receive high priority by the City for proper maintenance.

  I have gone through a few cars and tires being seriously damaged by these dangerous road conditions. I have also had a few close calls riding on this awful road. Always get complaints from visiting relatives and friends. I am deeply concerned that the enormous taxes that we pay in this neighborhood, not to mention the recent tax hike, are being mishandled. This problem has been ongoing for a long time and no action has been taken to ameliorate for years. Adjacent roads just down the hill with much less damage have been repaved. It's time for action. Please mobilize the forces to get this problem fixed.

  Currently for the past two weeks, everyday, dozens of dump trucks filled with dirt have gone down this street. This kind of traffic continues to damage this road

  Marlborough Terrace was reported in bad condition over 4 years ago. Here is the other ticket that was marked acknowledged and then as far as anyone can tell nothing was done.

  Marlborough Terrace desperately needs to be repaved. As the only street "down the hill" off of Grizzly Peak/Skyline between Claremont/Fish Ranch Road and Colton (about 3.5 miles) the street is of vital importance for the Claremont Heights neighborhood in case of fire or other emergency as a means of egress. It is in terrible condition, with multiple potholes, deteriorating pavement, obscured shoulders, cracks, etc. Please get Marlborough Terrace on the waiting list for repaving!

  The response is boilerplate and inadequate. Everyone in this neighborhood thinks this road is in need of repair and we pay some of the highest property taxes in the City of Oakland. I want the case reopened until we see some action that addresses this issue with true dialog and action on the ground.

  Here is a picture from today on Marlborough Terrace. This needs to be fixed. Please don't come and fix one part without fixing the whole stretch from Grizzly Peak all the way down. It is a minefield.
