There are areas of East Shore Park that are only cut 2 to 3 times a summer through our partnership with a local farmer who harvests for hay. Haying the fields is the historic use of the property and helps to maintain the biodiversity of the area encouraging bird and other wildlife, it also helps reduce our carbon footprint. We do maintain a 8ft mowed buffer around this area to ensure that there is no increased insect activity on our walking trails and to help maintain site lines. I will walk again in a week or so to make sure that the desired site lines are still maintained.
