So, other than recategoruzjng, is anythi g going to be do e to rectify this sub-standard, non-compliant unpermitted abberation?

I know someone who did this in Oakland. When a neighbor reported it, the building inspector came out the same day, made the owner get a permit, rip it all out with a jackhammer, and start over. They had to redo it to Oakland's specifications, depth of hole, rebar, slope and strength of concrete, etc. Oakland has a handout on how they want repoured driveways to connect with the gutter, curb and sidewalk, and all the other specifications. The handout drawing was complicated, and the owner speaks mostly Chinese, so he asked me to show him what the drawing meant. Oakland's Building department doesn't kid around. My friend got 30 days to get it corrected, with permit and inspections. He met the deadline.
Why is Alameda driveway also not being handled by the Building Inspection Department? Does Public Works have to repour private driveways in Alameda?

In the Cirt's defense, it's only been about seven months since I originally reported it...

Seriously though, does the City do anything to correct the behavior? Repott dumpibg, they pick it up. Report shoddy, unpermitted, substandard construction, they do nothing. It's nice in that if I have junk, all I have to do is leave it the curb and "report" it, but since i generally obey laws, I just end up paying for a bunch of miscreands and slobs.

Have you offered your services in reading Alameda's specifications or are you just a complainer"

We have sent the PO a notice that this must be removed and the new driveway needs a permit and inspection and needs to conform with City standards. Gail
