Description
This is a follow-up to my SCF ticket 3906702 (original text included below), which was mistakenly forwarded to Hamden rather than New Haven Parks for another case of illegal dumping in East Rock Park. As of late December the dumping has been there for over a month, which is an UNACCEPTABLE response time! Can we please get an update on when the debris will be removed?
Furthermore, this reposting is another test to see if See Click Fix’s geotagging of East Rock Park issues are routing appropriately to the New Haven Parks Department rather than to Hamden.
“Yet another illegal dump into East Rock Park, at one of the "top 3" locations for such dumping: I see car tires, a box spring/mattress, and other assorted detritus. Where is the camera footage? Where is the enforcement?? There's not even a sign here with a "No Dumping $200 fine" message! It's like no one cares.”

East Rock Park issues are still being routed to Hamden rather than to the New Haven Parks Department.
I'll check with East Rock Park Ranger Barvir to see if he (or the NH Parks Dept Director) can come up with a timeline for removal of the debris.

I've sent the following e-mail message to Ranger Dan Barvir at East Rock Park....
Hi Dan…
I’ve received two new SeeClickFix complaints regarding the East Rock Park dumping that was reported back in November (see below).
I realize that you’ve been inundated with illegal dumping reports, but now that the snow has lifted I was wondering if you could establish a timeline to address the situation off Farnam Drive.
The SCF app is still directing these complaints to Hamden, but we’re working to resolve that geo-tagging issue.
Thanks !!

We have received two reports of illegal dumping in East Rock Park.
The SeeClickFix app directed the complaints to Hamden, but I assume this is something that New Haven Parks & Rec would want to address….
If you descend (head south) on Farnam Drive from Davis Street in Hamden you will first pass the main Park entrance road on the left. Keep going. Halfway between that point and the closed-off loop road (about 1/4 of a mile further down/south) you will see the upholstered stuff chucked down off the side of Farnam Drive (on the west side of the road). Then keep going until you hit that little closed-off loop road, park there, and again look down/southwest off of Farnam Drive and you will find the tires, mattress/box spring, and other surprises.
Thanks !!

Bill Carone of New Haven Parks & Rec has responded to my e-mail message regarding the debris off Farnam Drive:
Hi Tom,
Now that all the snow has melted (hope it stays this way) we are looking to schedule cleanup soon. These are difficult and dangerous dumping spots for my staff. We will have to use rope and a winch to grab the sofa. For the tires, we might need to gain access from the Eli Museum.
When I have the opportunity to start I’ll let you know
Talk soon,
Bill C
