The PWD crew left the bucket because it is used motor oil and they do not clean up or deal with hazardous waste. You should contact the PWD call center 615-5566 and who is going to clean this up before it ends up in the bay?

Why don't they pass that info on to whoever does deal with it? Or stand it up even!

There seems to a complete lack of communication between all Depts in Oakland. Yes PWD should have reported this to Oakland Fire for clean up. Oakland fire should do more than just throw cat litter on it and call it a day. Which is how they handled the several used oil spills I have reported. leaving it for the public to clean up and dispose of. One gallon of used motor oil can contaminate one million gallons of water.

Who were they??? that cleaned this up.

The City.

PWD crews cannot clean up hazardous material or bio hazards per there union contract. OFD hazmat crews are supposed to clean up spilled used motor but very rarely do. Was the spilled oil cleaned up? I have be working with the State water board and Alameda Co Environmental health over used motor oil clean up protocol by the City of Oakland.

Nothing was swept up and I don't know if or what was in the bucket, just that it wasn't picked up with the huge pile last weekend.
