Signs will not help this issue. I know this from on hands experience. I was on overseas U.S. military bases for more than 20 years. Most of the law enforcement measures, including prohibition signs, we see being taken in the U.S. started on overseas U.S. military bases many years before those same rules were enforced in the U.S.

After any community becomes acclimated to many signs prohibiting something, the citizens of that community begin to believe they can violate those rules if there is not a sign telling them they can not do so. I'm not trying to be a party pooper. My words are from years of personal experience.

Little by little, we are harshly enforcing what people cannot do; thus creating the same totlitarian state we accuse other countries of being.

I'm sure it must be difficult to understand what I'm saying and I sometimes wonder if there are other Americans who have also live outside of the U.S. long enough to view our society with outside eyes.

Call the police to report issues if you really feel the need to do so, but please do not contribute to the institutionalization of creating an Orwellian state.

We are Americans. We should try to embrace the freedom in which we have been mentally conditioned to believe without bringing down the hammer on everyone.

How are you going to fine the many people who drive up let their dog out off leash to defecate and run around unsupervised and then drive away? The park looks so nice right now without all the litter that is normally left by users. Soccer players should clean up their beer and water bottles.

We should be free of living under the tyranny of those who are irresponsible in their behavior compromising the safety, property and health of the rest of us. As it has a cost, fines backed up with enforcement is key. Balance is lopsided at present; need a good measure of Singapore zero tolerance to tip the other way.
