As one of the people who helped install the new Beaver plaques a few years ago, I would be willing to remove and store them safely until the pier is fixed. Also, the concrete top of the pier needs to be stored by the City.

Two different car accidents(!) in the space of about a week damaged the brick pier, and I hope that the City is assertively pursuing insurance and that the ward alder is aware of the situation. billM, it's great of you to offer help. I hope that the alder and/or the City will reach out. Actually, if you still have contact with anyone in the City, it would be great if you urged them to store properly.

why did LCI east shore mark this a resolved? it definitely is not, also not in that LCI district.

In agreement with what billM and Newhavenres7643 have said. Why is this considered resolved? It's an ongoing loss to the neighborhood not to have this Beaver Hills landmark restored. If the homeowners need assistance with the process it should be offered.

We believe the initial concern was removing the loose bricks from the sidewalk and public space, which occurred. Sometime after this incident, the LC Neighborhood Specialist from Beaver Hills was transferred to the East Shore, so the name of the commenter changed in the system. Sorry for any confusion.

LCI would like to see a new pier constructed!

Staff conducted research about the pier that was destroyed.

Said premises are subject to the right of the Beaver Hill Company to maintain the ornamental pier at the Northwest corner of Goffe Terrace and Winthrop Avenue. (contained in deed 765/528).

Can you (LCI Citywide Helper) please say more about the comment above? What does this mean in terms of getting the pier fixed? Many of us have been eager to see this done, and for some time. Please let us know what we might be able to do.

Staff haven't received any new information. This will be a long term project. LCI reported this concern to the City Plan Department and City Engineer.

The LCI Beaver Hill Neighborhood Specialist will work with the community to make sure this is repaired in the future. This isn't a simple fix.

it appears another vehicle has struck this pillar (as of 4/2/23). I’m opening another ticket, but hoping to connect these issues toward fixing the pillar for good.

This is not a resolution! Upthread the City was commenting about rebuilding. Who, if anyone, was consulted about this? This neighborhood has been very patient FOR YEARS NOW--including during the mis-assignment of the issue to another part of the city.
