@DavidColeman. Fortunately the corner market no longer sells alcohol. They lost their liquor license several years ago for selling to minors.

The red shopping cart is now gone, yay Trader Joe's !?! Thank you!!! The trash contents however are now on the ground and a new Office Max Shopping cart has now appeared. Different day, different cart. More trash added to existing trash still not picked up. The broken stroller, old blanket, a huge bag of trash are on the side of the house. the large blue board is still in the driveway. Looks terrible and the trash has food & wrappers... perfect for rodents. Please clean contact the owners/realtor and have this cleaned up.

If any of these items are on private property, ACI/City will not pickup these items.

office max shopping cart is on the sidewalk strip. who do you/we contact to deal with growing pile of trash being dumped at a private residence then? can the city contact the owner for blight and health code violation? thank you

Code Enforcement cases are responded to based on a priority schedule set by the Alameda City Council. Cases involving health and life safety are the highest priority. did they ever fix this issue or is this just yet another attempt by the city to sweep issues under the rug and make it look like they fixed something without actually doing anything about it like Oakland does all the time?

update: the situation at this particular house did get resolved due to the fact that house went on the market and sold in a matter of a few weeks. new owners have been working on the house and word on the block is they’ll be moving in soon.

i agree with what i think you are saying (forgive me if i’m mistaken), and that it would be helpful if the city of alameda would give even a limited bit of information instead of simply stating ‘case closed’. citizens would have more faith in the process if they felt their complaints were being addressed specifically.

other situations have required reminders that the issue is still very much alive after this site has shown them as closed.

correction to above: as this was garbage on a private property, this case was referred over to code compliance. see-click-fix only deals w carts, trash etc left on ‘public or city’ property.

going forward, call code compliance directly for issues with private property would be faster than reporting on this site and waiting for them to fwd it it CC.
