  I have no idea what agency this was. I do suspect it was city of oakland. There was a bunch of young men of diverse race doing the work. They were a crew of about 6-10 and they had several vehicles including I believe a backhoe. I was bicycling and did not stick around to watch them work. I assume the city keeps track of when someone is digging trenches in our streets! Please go over there and look for yourself. It's only 1 mile from City Hall, in front of Kaiser auditorium.

  This was electrical trenching done by the contractor working on AC Transit’s East Bay BRT project.

  I called and spoke to someone at 311. They could not connect to any construction inspectors but promised to let me know whom to contact at Ac Transit regarding their BRT project work.
