M.M.M 111 - you are correct! Plus this needs to be nipped in the bud. APD is pretty lax in moving transients on - I've been trying for months with a homeless guy camping in a ditch along Doolittle Drive. The garbage is piling up & disgusting. Along with the fact he's tapped into the sprinkler system for water. SMH
Plus I understand there is a large encampment growing down at Marina Village. APD is doing nothing - there is theft, drugs, public drunkenness, harassment of shoppers.

The Alameda Police Department strives to provide quality service to all community members with respect, concern, care, dignity, and equal treatment. We are aware of the on-going complaints regarding homeless encampments and the Alameda Police Department is working closely with the City’s Community Development Department to address, understand, and act on issues involving homelessness in Alameda. Homeless, in itself, is not a crime, although we are aware of the community impacts a homeless encampment creates. The Alameda Police Department strictly adheres to legal requirements before displacing a homeless encampment and simultaneously provides community and County resources in an effort to achieve a functioning zero homeless population for Alameda. The City of Alameda’s Coalition Advancing Resources, Efforts, and Support (CARES) for Alameda’s homeless was initiated in early 2018 (formerly the Homeless Outreach Team) with the purpose of bringing together Alameda organizations with the combined goal of addressing homelessness. These groups include the Community Paramedics Program, Homeless Liaison Officer program, Community Development Department, community-based social service providers, faith-based coalitions, and the Alameda Housing Authority. In an effort to keep the Alameda community informed of the City’s efforts to address our homeless challenges, please reference the below link. If you are reporting an emergency, or potential hazard to the community, contact our non-emergency line at 510-337-8340 or dial 911.
This is closed? To receive a "canned" response to concerned citizens who reported the situation - is a disservice to the tax payers of this City. So does this mean - nothing was done besides passing it on to the Community liasions? Just like the request of the garbage and person living along Doolittle or the encampment down at Marina Village where vagrancy and theft run rampant. Please do not let our City turn into Oakland's homeless encampments.
Yup V.P just like I've always said the corrupt city government doesnt care and is just trying to close these issues to sweep them under the rug without fixing them. See Click Fix in Alameda has just become See Click Ignore and Close. The "fix" part has been taken out of the equation. They may as well just take the "Fix" out of "See Click Fix" since they're not actually interested in fixing anything. This city government is a corrupt swamp of pure evil. They will keep ignoring these issues and letting them fester and get worse. They will never fix it. We need to incite a revolt
Wow it only took them a month. Meanwhile they are still ignoring my request from six months ago about the encampment at marina village. interesting double standard
