Any updates? No change since October

I walk over this bridge everyday to get my 7 year old to school. My son and I are constantly having to step over cracks, damaged sidewalk and random bits of debris and concrete everywhere.

This is a major concern for our neighborhood. Please address.

These is a MAJOR safety concern in my daughters' school neighborhood. Please fix!

The last update I received was that the Building Department is investigating this request. I just sent out another email requesting the status. Once I receive the update I will update this thread. Thank you.

My fiancé and I call it "The Bridge of Broken Dreams." The broken concrete is an issue I cannot see being fixed because the bridge and area around it itself is always a mess. Covered in shattered glass from bottles, garbage, human feces, and a used condom... this is the bridge I cross everyday in a neighborhood where my property taxes shot up to downtown levels 3 yrs ago. The water pools on the bridge during the smallest rainfall, and I cannot imagine any corrosion prevention. This is no bridge for children! It is an embarrassment.

Any updates besides the violations? Is there a plan to solve this problem? In person school started two weeks ago. Families from local schools have been reporting this issue for years. This report was filed October 2019. The walk over the bridge and into this forgotten street is dangerous and disgusting. Neighborhood cleanups can only do so much and truly, parents, kids and concerned neighbors should not be responsible for cleaning up feces contaminated clothing, drug paraphernalia, broken glass, abandoned appliances, construction garbage studded with rusty nails, used condoms, discarded suitcases bags and purses, stained furniture cushions and broken televisions. This is not the welcome back to school that the kids deserve.

Violation issued to property owner. Reinspection to take place on 4/15/21. Summons to be issued if not abated.

Broken sidewalks are supposed to trigger an automatic violation. This issue was first reported a year and a half ago, why a warning? A summons should have been issued immediately. The city asks the citizens to be their eyes and ears, then ignores them. I am looking forward to the day this mess is cleaned up.
