Hello,
I'm submitting this request with the hope that this problem can be resolved. I previously submitted through mobile citizen for the city to place an island in our neighborhood. I live on 102nd and birch Oakland Ca. I explained the severity and life threatening events that occur here everyday. Instead I was ask to go around the neighborhood and collect signatures as if a concerned citizens facts are no longer credible. The reason for the island request is due to the excessive traffic, burning rubber/ donuts, racing and driving of more than 60 miles per hour. Not to mention the regular violation of running the stop sign. I have 3 small girls who play outside on a regular basis and I have to ALWAYS worry that at anytime any day someone will run their vehicle into our yard. There's so many children around here and elderly people and yet the outside traffic has no remorse of how fast they drive around here or how often they burn rubber hitting donuts and endangering pedestrians and residents. Please don't ask for a neighborhood petition on this issue. This is indeed a huge problem. I wish that a hidden camera could be placed here by the city so that they can clearly see the dangers we face everyday. Thank you for your time. I hope to hear from you soon!
