This giant pothole has made this street a lawsuit in the making.This is a danger to bike riders,Dog walkers,and residents trying to walk to and from there homes.At the moment only vehicles with four wheel drive can pass by.This problem needs to be
fixed.We pay a lot of money in property taxes in Oakland and for this to have been ignored for so many years is inexcusable.

OAK 311 has received this issue. Your service request ID is #1055448. Thank you, in advance, for your patience as we work through a backlog of pothole service requests. Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. Guess who pays the lawsuits- cities insurance-who pays the premiums- yep the taxpayers....
A no win situation.
No accountability- just excuses-always what can’t be done- never- YES we will take care of it!

I see the response to this. I understand there are lots of other problems that also need to be fixed. However, I and others have been asking for this to be fixed for YEARS. So I feel that we have already been very patient. At this point it has become more than a nuisance. It is dangerous for people who walk, bike, and drive on this road. I can easily see someone on a bike have a very bad accident (bikes tend to go very fast on the road). Also, given many cars can not pass by anymore, it is a danger if we need to evacuate. Thank you for looking into this.
