Description
This corner fence at this property located on corner of Colony Rd and Dyer St. is hazardous to drivers when approaching this intersection from Colony Rd or from Dyer St. It creates a blind spot for drivers, bikers and pedestrians. The height of the fence blocks the sight line. And, the fact that it extends out to the sidewalk blocks a clear view of oncoming traffic and pedestrians rounding the corner. It is also a security issue for pedestrians. Please have the appropriate city department check out this fence before an accident occurs. Also, determine if this fence violates city codes for fences.

A Cease and Desist letter has been issued for a Corner Visibility Violation under the Zoning Code. There has been some movement as evidenced by the above photo from 1.15.21.We expect more of the fence to be removed. This is a legal issue and may take some time outside of the realm of LCI.
The situation is better / safer now ( a step in the right direction) we too hope 100% compliance occurs as soon as possible . The City must follow the legal process, LCI has moved this difficult issue forward and will continue to work with our lawyers and Zoning staff. This is a group effort by several departments.
@ Interested Neighbor: A permit was issued for a deck by the Building Department in September of 2020.
Do you know about when this fence was installed? The issue was posted in December 2020.
