Description
While I'm grateful for the city's snow removal along the park it is frustrating that their was no notification that went out to residents regarding the tow away zones. it appears many vehicles were towed. Bizarrely, when the city does actually provide parking ban alerts due to snow, there is no enforcement. Collectively this leads to an annoying set of circumstances. undoubtedly, there was a new haven resident towed today who had been following proper parking procedures during snow emergencies, and hadnt know that their was snow clearance today. I suggest 1. notifying residents of snow removal plans ahead of time and 2. enforcement of illegally parked vehicles during parking bans when notice has been given.
this is the opposite.

I am a Wooster Square resident parked on Greene St with a valid permit for the last several weeks, and was towed this afternoon. I asked the Public Works employee who was on site there and he informed me that the signs were posted yesterday, less than 24 hours before they started towing cars. He also said that they didn't send out an alert because it was just a few blocks.
We did not receive any parking ban notice, alert from the Mayor's office, or any kind of communication that this street would suddenly be on a snow shovel route, and it is unacceptable that we get less than 24 hours to shovel out and move our cars. Though I check my car every few days to make sure I'm not violating any parking bans, it is not reasonable for the city to assume that everyone check their cars every single day, and be able to immediately shovel the snow, especially without an alert. If the city is going to change their communication channels last minute and not send out an alert, they have to at least provide enough time for people to see the signs.
Now we have to pick up our cars from the towing company---but without any form of transport to get there in the middle of a pandemic. I will absolutely be disputing the fine and the city should be held responsible for fees owed to the towing company.

NHV817,
Did you have to pay the $88 tow fee?

I've never heard of this happening before. Our mayor has always sent advance notifications of parking bans, but I can't find one for this issue.
Here's the really bad news. In accordance with the following ordinance, the mayor only needs to give a 2-hour advance notification. Fiddlesticks!!!

Hopefully, someone can find information that takes precedence over that ordinance. If it exists, I'm unable to find it.
