Pedestrian Safety Study RequestReconocido461 Newark Ave Jersey City NJ 07306, United States - Journal SquareAnother major accident at this deeply unsafe section of newark avenue. Everything about this hill tells drivers "speed up." We need serious traffic calming measures to make them slow down. It's a lot better than it used to be, but this stretch has a ways to go before it's actually safe for pedestrians, not to mention an actually pleasant and useful urban space.

Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsReconocido63 Sherman Pl Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The HeightsThe intersection of Sherman Place and Summit is perilous for pedestrians because cars race between the traffic lights at Manhattan and Hutton Streets. Drivers rarely stop for us when trying to cross, even when holding the hands of our children. There was yet another accident on Saturday when a car driving from Manhattan Ave to Hutton hit a car that was trying to make a left onto Summit — which is never easy. We need this intersection to become a 3-way Stop. The city added signs to stop for pedestrians a couple of years ago but the cars knocked them over and they were removed. It’s dangerous and unfair. I’ve lived her for 18 years and it only gets worse.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestReconocido290–304 Grove St Jersey City NJ 07302, United States - DowntownRestaurant street seating on Grove is making it challenging and unsafe for drivers and pedestrians These small huts make it challenging to see the stop signs or pedestrians trying to cross at the crosswalk More importantly these little hut like structures make it impossible for drivers to pull over and allow ambulances or police to pass Now that the pandemic sanctions are lifted can the city please remove these for safety concerns More cars are out and about as well as people since COVID restrictions are lifted which makes this more dangerous Please look into this ASAP Much Appreciated

Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsReconocido184 Morgan St Jersey City, NJ 07302, USA - Downtown
Traffic on Columbus and Marin is a headache and a hazard during rush hour and now with all the construction on Marin its becoming a nightmare.
Have you thought about
1. directing cars coming onto Morgan street between Marin and Newark to Newark Avenue
2. directing cars coming onto Morgan street between Marin and Warren to Warren Street.
3. By doing this you can remove the light on Marin/Morgan which will eliminate the backup on Columbusjust a thought

Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsReconocidoChristopher Columbus Dr & Jersey Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownFor driving south on Jersey Avenue at the Christopher Columbus Drive intersection, there is a desperate need for a left turn traffic light. There is a day care at 532 Jersey Avenue so there are a lot of parents dropping off their children on Jersey Avenue. And Jersey Avenue is a very busy road. When drivers are going south on Jersey Avenue and want to turn left on Christopher Columbus Drive there are too many cars going straight from the opposite direction (driving north on Jersey Avenue) so the drivers trying to turn left are stuck and usually have to try to force their way in. This is very dangerous and I have already seen numerous almost accidents. And, often times there are parents and children crossing Christopher Columbus Drive that almost get hit because the driver on Jersey Avenue trying to turn left is trying to rush to make it before the next car going straight reaches them. It is a very dangerous intersection and I think it needs a left turn signal.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestReconocidoSip Ave At Garrison Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square
There are two crosswalks here, and Sip is a busy road. People are constantly speeding down the hill from JFK and almost hitting people in the crosswalk
Is there any sort of traffic calming that can be added here?

Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsReconocido296 Palisade Ave Jersey City, NJ 07307, USA - The HeightsPlease install curb extensions at Palisade and Booraem. The opening is extremely wide causing pedestrians to be in the street for too long and allowing cars to turn at high speed.

Speed Hump RequestAbiertoBooraem Ave & Abbett St Jersey City, New Jersey, 07307 - The HeightsThere is the need for a speed hump on Booraem Avenue between Abbett Street and Lienau Place. After passing the speed hump further up on Booraem (before Abbett), cars often enter the curve between Abbett and Lienau speeding and are dangerous for pedestrians and animals.
