Gardner Ave & Summit Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - McGinley SquareThe intersection of Gardner and Summit continues to be a safety issue. There was just another fender bender today. People coming out of Gardner cannot clearly see traffic coming from the north. Something needs to be improved immediately.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestLa qiraySip Ave At Garrison Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square
There are two crosswalks here, and Sip is a busy road. People are constantly speeding down the hill from JFK and almost hitting people in the crosswalk
Is there any sort of traffic calming that can be added here?

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestLa qirayChestnut Ave & Pavonia Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal SquareThis intersection is very dangerous for pedestrians. There are no walk signals. I just had to jump out of the way as I crossed when a car turned left into my body. This is right near an elementary school too. Please have a look at this neglected area.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestLa qiray17th St & Coles St Jersey City, NJ, 07310, USA - DowntownHello. This is not my first and probably will not be my last complaint lobbied about this intersection. This intersection is INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS for pedestrians, especially with kids and pets, crossing. And where do kids and pets like to go? Across the street into Coles Park. A dog was hit and killed in this area last week. I was nearly struck with my pet twice in the last week. My husband was nearly struck and hit with our dog today because someone sped up towards the flashing lights. I wanted a woman nearly get hit this morning and the driver rolled down his window and cursed at her. THE FLASHING LIGHTS ARE NOT ENOUGH. PLEASE STUDY AND FIX THIS INTERSECTION. I do not want to go outside just assuming it's only a matter of time until me and my dog are hit and injured or worse.

Is it possible if the traffic department can adopt "Leading Pedestrian Interval" due to school zone area?A "Leading Pedestrian Interval", which allows pedestrians a head start of a few seconds to cross without any cars moving at all (all signals turn red at the same time).

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestLa qiray350 Warren St Jersey City 07302, United States - Downtown
No stop sign at intersection of Bay and Warren. Cars park on top of cross walks and it’s impossible to see oncoming traffic when crossing warren in car or on foot. Requesting a stop stop sign on warren and bay to protect pedestrians and drivers.
It looks like there used to be a stop sign on warren, but only the pole is left.
It’s so bad I’ve been hit by a bike here. Would like to avoid getting hit by a car.
Thanks!

Town Square Pl & Washington Blvd Jersey City, NJ, 07310, USA - The WaterfrontThis intersection is especially dangerous in both directions for multiple reasons. We've come dangerously close to hitting pedestrians and being sideswiped by other drivers on numerous occasions. The pedestrian crossing from the mall to the PATH is on a diagonal, meaning that pedestrians cross along a very long area but with little respite in the median due to the large exhaust tower and tall grasses in the way; they're often walking along the curb or running out quickly in front of drivers since they have nowhere else to go. What's more is that there are cars stopping suddenly on both sides of the street to pickup/drop off passengers. Finally, the exhaust tower and grasses are super dangerous for driver sight lines when driving south, and for pedestrians attempting to cross from the median toward the mall. I go through this intersection very slowly and still have to frequently slam on my brakes or veer quickly into the other lane.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestLa qiraySteuben St & Warren St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
I am writing to address the high risk intersection of Steuben St and Warren St. As a frequent pedestrian at this location, I'm concerned about the safety, and accessibility for the large number of pedestrians that move through this intersection daily. I believe the following issues should be addressed:
- Visibility is compromised by parked cars along Warren St, posing risks to pedestrians crossing the road.
- High-speed vehicular traffic on Warren St further endangers pedestrians. I regularly see vehicles traveling at excessive speed in an attempt to make the yellow light on Columbus.Given the need to improve safety while having a minimal impact on through traffic, I would like to propose the following solutions:
- Implementation of a raised pedestrian crosswalk (speed table crosswalk) to slow down traffic and enhance pedestrian safety.
- Consideration of appropriate warning signals, or stop signs.I urge you to prioritize this matter and take decisive steps to improve pedestrian safety at this critical intersection.
Thank you for your attention to this important issue.
