Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsĐược thừa nhận361 Newark Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownI live at 361 Newark Avenue. There is a crosswalk directly across the building. On the cross street there is also a stop sign, but this particular location does not have any traffic control. It is difficult for pedestrians to cross from one side to the other since there is no traffic light or stop sign. If a car does finally decide to stop, the cars at the stop then begin to go and do not give pedestrians a chance. I have also seen quite a few accidents in this location due to the crossing of pedestrians.

Streets: Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Issue/RequestĐược thừa nhận145 Nelson Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The Heights
I am asking for Stop Signs on Nelson Avenue at Locations of Hague Street, Leonard, Graham, and others to improve street crosswalk for pedestrians. It's a safety hazard for people to cross on Nelson Avenue at Leonard Street, Graham, and others due to cars driving by. Pedestrians usually have to wait a long time before they can cross and it's still a safety issue.
Maybe Stop Signs are needed at these crosswalk locations on Nelson Avenue. Also keep in mind that Public School 27 is few blocks away so having these Stop Signs on Nelson will help crosswalk safety for pedestrians for all people especially school children. The City Inspector needs to determine whether STOP Signs are needed at the locations, Speed Humps, or traffic lights. Thank you!

Traffic: Signal, Signage, and Striping MaintenanceĐược thừa nhậnMonticello Ave & Communipaw Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-LafayetteAt this intersection, I'm requesting if it's possible to make all left turns delayed with ample timing. In morning rush hours, the left
turn lane signal turns from green to red too quick as well as vehicles using left lane to go straight so not to wait in traffic.
Communipaw and Monticello Ave location. -
Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsĐược thừa nhậnCentral Ave & Hopkins Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - The HeightsDuring an afternoon walk, I witnessed the aftermath of a terrible accident that occurred on the corner of Central and Hopkins Avenue. Where you see the orange in the picture is where the victim was on the ground badly hurt. Her lower left leg had been sheared to the bone from the ankle up to the knee on the inside. It was horrible and she lost so much blood. I hope she is ok. I think she was taken to Jersey City Medical.
In the meantime, I have to tell you that this intersection is very unsafe. There is a school across the street and usually a school crossing guard. It needs a TRAFFIC LIGHT. Please do something. I don't know that a traffic light would have helped this woman, but I don't know that it wouldn't have either. This is a terrible situation. -

Parking issuesĐược thừa nhận30 Regent St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
I live at 30 Regent Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302 and pay to park in the garage located there. Because I suffer from complicated & potentially life-threatening health issues, I am physically disabled and unable to walk the 1/4 mile from my residence to the Liberty Harbor ferry. I have permanent Handicapped License Plates to ensure that I am not forced to try to ambulate distances.
Since I am still gainfully employed in New York City, I commute via the Liberty Harbor NY Waterways Ferry to Pier 11. Unfortunately, there were NO Handicapped Spaces in the Marina Parking Lot even though I had already paid to park there for the day. My Physicians (multiple specialists) restrict me from walking distances or attempting to stand from prolonged time frames; thus, I was left without handicapped accessible parking options when I arrived at the Liberty Harbor Marina to take the 9:30am Ferry to Pier 11. In order to ensure I made the 9:30am ferry to Pier 11, the RV Park allowed me to park in a space about 5 spaces removed from their office; however, they advised that I would only be able to park there for today.
Please advise what the contingency plans are in place for handicapped residents when the Marine Marina Ferry Parking Lot runs out of handicapped accessible spaces. I was advised by the clerk in the RV Park that the limited amount of disabled persons parking was assessed as sufficient by Regulators even though they were clearly unable to accommodate my needs for 02/12/2020.

Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsĐược thừa nhận18th St & Marin Blvd Jersey City, NJ, 07310, USA - DowntownThe corner of 18th and Marin is extremely dangerous for pedestrians with drivers rushing to get into Hoboken. While there is a green arrow for drivers going south and turning east, there is none for those going east and turning north, and those drivers blow through the red light to beat the westbound traffic.

Sidewalk ObstructionĐược thừa nhận346 Second St Jersey City 07302, United States - Downtown
JCPD is supposed to be a part of public safety, but instead put pedestrians at risk on a regular basis.
Please tell them to stay out of the crosswalks with their oversized vehicles.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestĐược thừa nhận235-249 Brunswick St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownThe intersection of Brunswick and Pavonia is extremely dangerous. Countless times drivers do not stop or even slow down as they travel on Brunswick from 9th street towards 8th street. It is as though the stop sign there does not exist. I have been almost hit while walking my dog multiple times because someone did not stop. This is extremely dangerous because of the public park with a child playground and water pad as well as the dog groomer located on pavonia adds increased dog traffic in this area. I believe what is needed here is a raised crossed walk to bring the pedestrians up to eye level with the drivers as well as it creates some speed mitigation. Installing a speed hump further down the block would not stop drivers from blowing through the stop sign.
