Not just stealing power. They have stripped the wire and sold it for the copper. And no the “self medicated” are still there and everywhere in our neighborhood. We need to expect more from our government!

That's how smart they are take less than pennies per dollar from the copper fence instead of charging there taxpayer funded smart phone to call there doordash pharmacist for there next fix. They still cannot figure out why they living on the street at our expense oh wait who are the stupid ones???

I called Oakland 311 today to check on the status of fixing the lights, was told the wire was stolen from the posts and it will be a huge project getting them rewired. Right now they are dealing with the insurance company, and it might be months before the lights are fixed. Was told to talk to facilities manager Marco Torren 510-615-5500

He says they're setting up live screen traps to catch the rodents, mostly at south end of the park. Can't use poison because of remaining homeless encampment and their pets. at the north end He will talk to the person that covers this area and ask him to give the marina residents a box of rodent snap traps when they come out at the end of the week or early next week.
He said that Feils- a mild form of Rickettsia (fleaborne Typhus) has been found in some fleas on rats in Oakland - he's not sure of the lab results for Union Point.

The person who's been heading up the effort to clear the homeless encampents from Union Point is apparently a young, very wonderful guy by the name of Joe DeVrie. I hear that they intend to clear the encamapents to the north when they can locate other places to relocate the home less to.

Joe DeVrie is at the City administrator's office.

This issue is certainly Not Closed. When the City and Port get the lights working again and remove the homeless to keep them from stripping the wires and copper - Then it will be fixed. Keep it open until then. It is not "Addressed".
