The City of New Haven has neglected the Annex for a long time. Many sidewalks are crumbling and curbs are destroyed. This is a state road and should be kept in good repair. Please pay attention to Ft. Wooster Park it is a part of the history of this area.
Parks has a lot to do, but we hope that the sidewalk along the Fort Wooster park, on the lower Townsend Ave., can have the hedge trimmed back, and the wall repaired.
Still waiting, and in the meantime Parks massacred the bushes along Townsend Ave., as usual. Wondering if anyone at the City even reads these posts any more.
That's nice to hear. Who is the urban forester, and what is their job? Maybe a forester can get a retaining wall fixed in a city park - that would be a good example of city bureaucracy working as it should. In the meantime, the wall keeps crumbling onto the sidewalk, and the sidewalk farther down Townsend was damaged by the front-end loader used by Parks, and a hasty repair has not fixed the broken and protruding slab, a danger to pedestrians and a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Waiting for action from the East Side Supervisor on this issue and the broken slab farther down Townsend, broken by thr front-end loader Parks was using to clear trees.
I don't know what issue 11043946 is, but I hope it is the sidewalk slab that also needs concrete work. To the good, Parks actually trimmed the hedge for once, instead of smashing it with a brush hog. Hurray.
Well, some issues don't seem to be addressed by the city. Maybe I shouldn't have said SCF is broken, but if it takes years for the city or anyone in the city's department concerned, to respond, then something isn't working very well.
When it works, it's great. When it doesn't, and when issues are not addressed by anyone in the city for a few years, you wonder what's going on.
The retaining wall still has not been fixed, neither has the sidewalk that Parks broke, and they never trimmed the hedge this year - someone from Friends of Ft. Wooster did - and I posted pics of the hedge covering half the sidewalk on SCF several times.
It breaks my heart to give you this news. Here's some information that might be useful. This reported issue is more than 1 year and 8 months old, but its status is still only "Open".
Usually, our city's officials change the status from "Open" to "Acknowledged" within a few days from its reported date.
There are several possible reasons why this reported issue has not yet been acknowledged by our city. Rather than list all of the possible reasons, I'll offer a plausible solution.
When our city doesn't acknowledge an issue reported on SeeClickFix within several days, that means it will never be acknowledged. I monitor SeeClickFix, so I'm not guessing.
Still waiting - it would be nice to get a little feedback from someone in the city who is responsible for reading these requests. My tax dollars not at work, apparently.
I wonder if it is legal for private citizen taxpayers to effect this repair and deduct the cost from their property taxes? We could triple the real cost so it looks like a real City contractor job. Seriously, is this an option when the City is not doing its legal duty to maintain the public property?
We are trying to delineate issues that are current and need the city's attention to resolve. Any issues prior to 2023 are being closed. If your issue remains and needs to be addressed by the city, please either re-open or open as a new See Click Fix issue. Thank you.

Hi sam,
In what way is SCF broken. It seems to be working fine for me.
