Maitland Drive has become a freeway for speeding vehicles. Our household has had 3 cars that have been hit and run and totaled in the past 10 years by speeding drivers. Backing out of the driveway has become so dangerous because cars drive so fast and refuse to slow down/yield. I have to ride bikes with my young kid on the sidewalk because it is not safe to ride on Maitland. Cars rarely give right of way to pedestrians when crossing Maitland and the intersection of Melrose. This problem has been reported for at least the last 10 years and nothing has been done to ensure the safety of the residents and neighborhood.
