Description
139 Blake St, an old gas station, is just a mess. There are tarps attempting to hide what's inside the fence, there is a truck cab parked on the property, there are often cars inside the fence. This property is zoned as residential and clearly it is not used for that purpose. It's been like this for quite a while and as it's the entrance to Beaver Hills neighborhood up Osborn Ave. does not bode well for the neighborhood. Please clear up this violation of residential property.

Q. Is the problem blight (trash, etc) outside, or is it a problem with the building (illegal use, housing code violation, etc)?

This problem has been around for, like, 30 years.
The soil is polluted because it is a former garage. The site is too small for anybody to want to buy it and build on it, because ... the soil is polluted and the cleanup is prohibitively expensive. So it sits there, derelict, and draws trash and litter.
This is a much bigger issue than SeeClickFix can handle. Talk to the candidates for the next aldermanic election for Beaver Hills and see what they come up with as an answer; maybe vote (in part) on the basis of what you hear.

Oh yes, another police substation sounds great. In fact, we should push for police substations in every neighborhood. We won't even have to worry about funding. We can enlist the assistance of civilian volunteer police helpers.
Heck, we can even give them cool-looking armbands signifying their authority. Does any of this sound familiar or have we all forgotten world history?
Seriously, why would anyone suggest a police substation because a landowner isn't keeping their property clean? WTF (What the fiddlesticks)?
