Business ComplaintReconocido3rd St & Jersey Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown

This CitiBike driver thought that it would be OK for him to drive over the parking bollards that protect pedestrians at the corner and park there while he played with his cellphone.
Considering that our tax dollars have to pay for these to be replaced, it's appropriate that CitiBike should pay for that.

18th Street Pocket Park 837 Jersey Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07310, USA - DowntownEvery morning cars coming from Hoboken make a right turn onto 18th during the red light without even slowing down. I have been almost hit multiple times while crossing on the north side with the walk sign.

Parking issuesReconocido94 Nelson Ave Jersey City 07307, United States - The HeightsSomething needs to be done about the school parking issues on Irving St and Nelson Ave. Barriers were put in place and people just park next to them or run them over. I’ve been a resident of this area my entire life and it has gotten worse and worse. Parking Authority refuses to acknowledge the issue. It makes no sense that parents are dropping kids off and blocking crosswalks and corners where other children cross going to two other nearby schools. Please don’t allow someone’s kid getting run over or an accident be the reason this is finally remedied.

Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsReconocidoBaldwin Ave & Hopkins Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - The HeightsBaldwin Ave at Hopkins Ave sees near constant parking in the crosswalk and on sidewalks. We need curb extensions and bollards to keep drivers from blocking pedestrian right of way and sightlines.

Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsReconocidoFerry St & Palisade Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The HeightsEven with the pedestrian signs drivers do not slow down. When you cross the street that yell at pedestrians like we are in the wrong crossing when we have the right away and it is state law. Also, very often someone is parking on the crosswalk right in from of Lofi making it unsafe to cross. Please but protectors on the crosswalk and also put a pedestrian sign in the middle of the road too so slow down motorists and let pedestrians go.

Speed Hump RequestReconocidoCentral Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The HeightsCars turn really fast on red here. It’s dangerous to pedestrians crossing. Please add a “No Turn on Red” sign and a speed hump.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestReconocidoGrand St & Marin Blvd Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Why was my previous request archived???
I was walking my baby in our stroller along with my dog and almost got hit by a car in this corner TWICE. Care turning off of grand street to Marin are super aggressive. I’ve also seen multiple people almost get hit here beside me, and know a biker was killed in this location.
This intersection is an issue because many people get off the highway and use this to cut through downtown. Either there is a red left turn signal and/or something, this intersection needs help.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestReconocidoJohnston Ave & Pine St Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-Lafayette
The intersection of Pine and Johnston is extremely dangerous: limited sight distance, cars racing to making lights, excessive traffic from the bridge closing, poor crossing marking. This intersection would benefit greatly from simple changes like crossing lights to warn drivers of crossing, better markings, and a speed bump on Pine. However in the long-term, JC should consider a slow streets design the changes the street from a straight un-obstructed street to a street with intentional obstructions to slow traffic at intersections (e.g., circular planter in the middle of the intersection).
As this neighborhood grows, so will pedestrian traffic and JC needs be proactive about pedestrian safety.
This is also a major bike route for local residents, and desperately needs protected bike lanes.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestReconocido2nd St & Erie St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownPlease consider adding a stop sign for north-bound traffic here. Cars rarely stop for pedestrians in the cross walk and since west-bound traffic has a stop sign, they often think the other car does as well. Cars will park very close to the cross walk meaning visibility is basically zero until you are in the intersection. I have personally almost been hit a few times walking and last night my uber driver almost got us killed.
