  It’s true, I drive by there every night and they are all there every day... something needs to be done... Plus they also go to the Arlington street Park... There are children at that playground. They should not be witnessing people getting high....

  Totally agree.
  They are there all day every day.
  There’s a woman who I often see danicing with another woman and she lifts her shirt up to her neck so we see her bra with all of her dance moves.

  Why did the city build BENCHES for these people to loiter?

  That has baffled me from the moment they went up.

  So your saying I should call the cops every day, flood a line that is meant for real police issues?! Why not just have officers go there daily to clean up the riff raff! It’s called diligence! You all know it’s there everyday. I see officer after officer just drive by. We are asking you to step in and take care of the loitering issue on your own. I think it’s pretty obvious with others chiming in that is a concern and an issue. We shouldn’t have to call!

  Framinghamlady, I agree with you. I see officers drive by too I’ve also seen them parked at the old tedeschis and watch them... Shoud we call to report these officers that are not doing anything as well??? There was a woman on Arlington street about a week ago and she clearly looked like she was high on something. The police arrived, the ambulance arrived and the fire felt arrived. She was clearly distressed looking for her drug dealer. I saw in astonishment how she was not taken into jail for endangerment.... It’s pretty sad to see that the city of Framingham is not doing anything to help these individuals that clearly need help and get them off the streets....

  that's a open air heroin and crack market on that corner I watched it for a couple of hours on day and if I was a cop id have at least 5 dealers behind bars but alas the cops are busy with traffic details on union st as it is repaved for the umpteenth time un nessesarily

  If they are begging they are not breaking rules. They really don't beg unless there is a cop around. Yes they loiter, but with SMOC kicking them out every day out of the shelters and united way feeding them. This is the norm of framimngham. All these new high end apartments should help fix it, but i don't expect mayor spicy has the back bone to do what is actually needed.

  With this situation, the drunks/addicts literally falling into cars on the street near the commuter rail, and the panhandlers on Temple Street (among other places, I'm sure), what have we homeowners gotten ourselves into? If panhandling is legal, what do we need to do to change this? Panhandling is a cover for drug dealing and prostitution.

  You can complain all you want here. Lets create a petition where we put our names, and how the downtown loitering affects us, and hand deliver it to the mayor. Anyone want to set that up. Perhaps online, change . org or something. Its nice and all that the city raises our taxes equally in percentage with the north side of town, its unfortunate that our true values are stagnant while the north's actually grow.

  I agree!! We need to start a petition or meet with the Mayor.... She has coffee meetings if I’m not mistaken. You are right we pay high property taxes but it seems like the South side gets the short end of the stick when it comes to safety...

  So Lt Grigas - Is this a priority matter for the PD, or are the laws on the books too weak and the the first amendment too anbiguious to allow the PD any enforcement.

  We in this thread are all talk anyway, nobody actually will enact change, which is why nothing has happened. Bet if Miss Spicy lived down this way, they would have been gone on Jan 2nd, 2018.

  Maybe our south side city councilors should have a meeting there at 7pm some evening. If you want to change anything about city ordinances and tackle any kind of nuisance, it's not just the mayor. You also have to get the attention of the city council. Also, you'll never catch the police having a back and forth conversation on any form of social media. If you really want their attention, you do have to make a call. But do it at a time that showing up there will be useful.

  Scared Straight. Have Yvonne spend a night in downtown framingham by her self... Then maybe she will see... probably not though. As long as vagrants are kept to the south side of the tracks and city hall the north. No changes will happen.
